Dr. Becky Ward is a Registered Psychologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA-D) who has been working with children and youth with ASD and their families over 30 years, primarily in early diagnosis, Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), ABA for school-age children, and parent- and teacher-mediated intervention for behaviour change. For 8 years, Dr. Ward was Assistant Professor at Brock University in the Centre for Applied Disability Studies, teaching behaviour analysis to MA level students. She conducts research in two areas (1) early detection and behavioural intervention for infants at-risk for ASD, and (2) evaluation of the 'My Life as an Epic Win' transition to adulthood program for youth with high-functioning ASD. Dr. Ward brings her commitment to the use of evidence-based ABA practice to the development, delivery and evaluation of all Phoenix Centre programs. 

Flavia Orvitz
Executive Director

M.Ed. / R.S.W.

Flavia Orvitz is a Registered Social Worker, having graduated Summa Cum Laude, from Niagara University, in New York State. She has also 

completed two postgraduate programs at Brock University: a Master in Education, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Disability Studies, with specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Flavia has been working in the field of ABA for over 20 years and has raised a son with ASD who is now a young adult. She was very involved with Autism Ontario for over 15 years in the capacity of President, SEAC representative, and co-founder (with Rose Campbell) of the social skills and summer camp programs.

Our Mission: 
The Phoenix Centre for Learning will provide affordable and reliable Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services for individuals with ASD and their families in the Niagara Region. The Phoenix symbolizes our commitment to supporting individuals and families in rising to the challenges associated with ASD, and to seeing the whole family soar in their ability to cope, learn, and grow to their full potential.
